David’s December Parties!
Friday, December 8th, 2006WOW! The Alberta Clipper has come and gone and now it might as well be spring! Lucky us there is a ton of stuff going on in December so we won’t be needing the holidays to pass the time. Where do I even begin? P.S. All these events are free.
TONIGHT! At the historic Hexagon Bar, the Awesome Snakes and Goddamn DooWop Band on the bill for an Super Friday Night Party. Just ask Danny from the Awesome Snakes. “Hey Danny, what about tonight at the Hex?” “Yeah it’s gonna be a awesome party.” SEE!
Then we got the Saturday Night Special over at the Art of This Gallery, it is a group painting show, curated by Sean Connaughty, featuring some of the best and brightest up-and-comers from the University. Plus, there will be the usual surplus of beverages that even in my glory days I couldn’t finish off by myself. For sweet.
ART OPENING! December 15 at 7pm over at Rogue Buddha (357 13th ave. ne. mpls.) the paintings of Ben Olson will be on display. He has personally promised me attention-grabbing and thought-provoking paintings, plus a wicked spread of scrumptious appetizers and intoxicating beverages.
HOLIDAY PARTY!! Who hates the holidays more than me? Nobody. And even I am going to the Annual Holiday Art Party and Sale at Art of This Gallery. Let’s go back to Danny. “I am gonna DJ the shit outta that shit.” The magical date for this magical event is December 16 from 7-10. Bring a hot date and I will see to it that you both get a little something for your efforts.
Friday December 22, David will head north to the tundra of Fargo, ND to begin his five day “Sit in the Snow in Lovely Fargo” performance piece. Oddsmakers have set the over-under on consecutive days he will last buried at 2 1/2. Side bets include the number of dogs that relieve themsleves on his snow heap, percentage of his body that will not be ‘recoverable,’ and amount of time he’ll spend talking about what a ‘genius’ he is.
If there was ever a month to be alive, this is probably it.
Hell yeah, The Grinch
